i realise this blog has been untouched for years and the things that i used to write about seems trivial in comparison to now.
she seems to be getting worse and it is funny how i can only find comfort in writing about it in a blog. she keeps asking for him even though he has been gone for 4 years. that scares me. it seems that she has aged so much overnight it is heart wrenching to see her this way.
8 years have passed and i think i still feel the same about you. i wish it wasn't but it is. i don't think it would ever change.

I haven't been writing at all because I lost the interest in writing. Recently somethings have happened and i feel the need for words again. I haven't had this emotion consume me before. It's going to be crashing down soon I know it. I gave up the best thing in the world to pursue my heart. Let's hope the decision was right. Only time will tell.

As an infant needs nurturing to reach maturity, so does Internet-based communication. Journalism is placed uniquely to bring maturity to Internet-proffered communication. The telephone proved to be a priceless tool for journalists—reporters were quickly connected to sources and editors, facilitating the production and in due course the delivery of information and the Internet has the potential to become the same. The Internet does not erase accessibility issues between journalism producers and journalism consumers, but it does increase the opportunity for feedback and exchange. It is my belief that the future of journalism links indelibly to the exploration and development of interactivity and exchange with on-line customers. This process of feedback in the traditional model of journalism involves effort for readers and viewers. They can write a letter to the editor. They can call or visit the newsroom. If so inclined, and financially able to do so, they can publish or broadcast their own version of events. The joy of the Internet is that with a modem anyone can publish. Anyone can broadcast. In the rapidly changing world of on-line media development, journalism is uniquely positioned to serve as an informational conduit for the cacophonous explosion of information flying as bytes and bits in cyberspace. Journalists sift. The process of sorting a day's information into understandable packaging is a simplified definition of journalism. Journalists contribute to community by reporting community. A greater mission, however, is to connect with that community of readership, to provide the means of engagement that allow that community to coalesce. That is what I foresee for the journalism of tomorrow. Such work is essential today because the fast-paced growth of the Internet begets a genuine concern that adhering to the traditional model of journalism, will isolate journalism from the Internet's financial growth by inattentiveness to the medium's interactive detail. Simply, either media managers offer the means of interconnectivity with their on-line product, or users will gravitate and develop brand loyalty to sites that do. The risk is nothing short of obsolescence. The advantage of this technological revolution is that journalists can use new technology to help communities discover social and political issues and use the knowledge gained to reshape our democratic institutions. It's a major change that should not be met with apprehension, but with expectation for a common good.

We think we are safe because we are a small nation, but we are not. A 2006 study by independent author Jolly John identified Singapore as “the most network ready country” in the world. This has lead to both a proliferation of computer-based crime in Singapore and to efforts by the Singaporean government to combat such crime. The primary tool for law enforcement officials in Singapore is the Computer Misuse Act which was passed in 1993 and has been amended four times, with the last amendment being in 2005.
Singapore has chosen to follow the model of the United Kingdom by enacting legislation that addresses computer crime and utilizing the existing Penal Code for cyber crime. Computer crime is dealt with in Singapore’s Computer Misuse Act. This law prohibits the obtaining of unauthorized access to computer material, modifying the contents of a computer, obtaining or intercepting any computer service or function, interfering with or obstructing the lawful use of a computer, impeding or preventing access to or impairing the usefulness or effectiveness of any computer program or data, or disclosing a password, access code, or other means of gaining access to a program or data.
A Singaporean law professor, Professor Warren Chik, compared cyber crime laws in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore, that Singapore adopted four approaches in combating computer crime. These are:
1) Passing new legislation that creates crimes where activity warrants it;
2) Imposing severe penalties as punishment and as deterrents;
3) Providing law enforcement agencies with additional powers, granting them extra-territorial jurisdiction, and creating new agencies with specially trained experts to deal with this technological crimes;
4) Making it a crime to abet or even to attempt to perpetrate computer crimes.
Agencies created to fight computer crime in Singapore include the Computer Crimes Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department, the Computer Forensics Branch of the Singapore Police, and the Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team. The creation of these units was deemed necessary due to the ever more sophisticated nature of the technology involved in such crimes.
It is easy to confuse the difference between computer crimes and cyber crimes and these are definitions given by the law enforcements.
"Computer crime involves acts that attack the functions of a computer, access to a computer or the Internet, and similar items. They might be called “cyber-trespass”. They are viewed as crimes against a computer. Examples of these crimes are hacking, denying another access to Internet usage, and sending unsolicited or virus-causing electronic mail. Cyber crime, on the other hand, is traditional crime such as fraud, theft, extortion, and the like in which the computer is used as an instrument of the crime. These acts are traditional crimes that are facilitated through the use of a computer."
In 1993, Singapore passed the Computer Misuse Act (Chapter 50A of the Singapore Statutes), which it has amended four times, as recently as 2005. This Act addresses computer crimes and provides for stiff penalties for the violation of the law. It has applied its existing Penal Code provisions for activities that are deemed cyber crime. For example, the release of a virus would fall under the jurisdiction of the Computer Misuse Act, whereas an economic crime (e.g. extortion or securities fraud) would fall under the aegis of the Penal Code.
Most of the provisions of the Computer Misuse Act carry a maximum fine up to $10,000 Singaporean dollars and/or imprisonment up to three years for a first offense. For the second and subsequent offenses, the penalty is a fine up to $20,000 Singaporean dollars and/or imprisonment up to five years. If there was damage caused as a result of the crime, the penalty is a fine up to $50,000 and/or imprisonment up to seven years. If the crime involved a threat to Singapore’s security, or to the banking or other financial, communications, or transportation industries, or to public services including utilities, safety, police, civil defense, or medicine, the penalty is a fine up to $100,000 Singaporean dollars and/or imprisonment up to 20 years.
Cyber crimes are a scary thought to me as I do much Internet bank transactions on a monthly basis. I am unsure if I have ever downloaded this software by accident - as much as I don’t entertain spam mail and download suspicious files, I am still unsure if I have accidentally downloaded it by visiting a site.
Even with the latest technology of two-factor authentication system for Internet banking login, it is still not a 100% safe to do monetary transactions online. If this is not safe enough, would we all resort to going back to the last decade of going to the banks to join the queues to do bank transactions?
I usually do my Internet banking at home when I am certain that my wireless network is untapped, I have a secure firewall and an anti-virus software scanning my computer. I do not attempt to do any transactions outside on other computers as I’m not sure if it is safe to do so. Play safe is the best way to go - especially if its with money and privacy issues.
I hope that this software is not passed on here to Singapore. The security of Internet banking will be compromised if it does. Internet banking has saved much time for many people. I don’t think many of us will be able to cope without Internet banking.

ever felt like you haven't seen enough of the world? I personally favor Google Earth because it allows me the option to search for places that i have never been to and imagine myself in it. Sound delusional but it's true. Google Earth displays houses, the color of cars, and sometimes even people's shadow and street signs. The degree of resolution available is based roughly on the points of interest, but is mostly at least 15 meters of resolution.
Google Earth uses digital elevation model (DEM) data collected by NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). This enables people who use Google Earth to view places of interests like Pyramids of Eygpt and Taj Mahal in 3D, instead of 2D like in GPRS offered by the Ipod Touch or IPHONE.
When you type in the search bar for a place, Google Earth jumps to the new location and sends you hurtling toward that spot, plummeting faster and faster until you finally, smoothly glide to a halt in the sky above it.
At the end of the day, Google Earth feels more like an exploration tool than one that i would use for more serious matters ie: getting lost.

I believe that microsoft surface is the future of the computer age. The Internet has only taken 4 years to reach out to 50 million users therefore microsoft surface would seem to be the next new age's computer platform. Microsft Surface solves one of the oldest problems that comes with most PCs. COMPUTER WIRING! Microsoft Surface is one technology that has no cables or external USB ports for plugging in peripherals like thumb drive. It also has no keyboard, no mouse, no trackball, nothing at all except its screen. It seems that Microsoft Surface trancends the physical realm and links the virtual world with the physical for example, dragging photos into a digital camera just by placing the camera on top of the Surface!
Microsoft Surface is a creation by Bill Gates that looks suspiciously like a coffee table at first sight.

I started online shopping when i was in secondary school and honestly spent alot of time and money purchasing items. However, when i started poly, i felt indignant about letting people earn money from me as online businesses seemed easy to me. So i started out with re selling items that i bought before which did not suit me. At the start, the items did not sell well as i was lazy and reused the pictures from previous sellers that i had bought the items from. Subsequently, i realised that the pictures were the problem thus i took a whole day, borrowed my dad's digi cam and re took the pictures for all my items.
the problem with this arrangement was that i was not making money but more of claiming back what i had spent, thus i looked for cheap items from overseas that were sold for higher prices locally and posted it on yahoo auction. this continues for about a year before i realise that i risked having items not being able to be sold and that more left over stock meant more money wasted.
9 years down the road, i now do preordering for comics and statues as well as online sprees that do not require me to fork out a cent as the payments are made by the customers before hand. What i serve as is a middle man (or woman) to these people and i earn from a commision base. The intake may be lower but i do not risk having my own money stuck in stocks. I do plan to explore more of online businesses and hope to be able to set up one by the end of this year.

THE NEEDS OF E-BUSINESS SECURITY While putting business systems on the Internet offers potentially unlimitedopportunities for increasing efficiency and reducing cost, it also offers potentially risk.
The Internet provides much greater access to data, and to more valuable data, not only to legitimate users, but also to hackers, disgruntledemployees, criminals, and corporate spies.
Increased Data Access One of the chief e-business benefits of the Internet is “disintermediation.” The intermediate information processing steps that employees typically perform in“brick and mortar” businesses, such as typing in an order received over the phoneor by mail, are removed from the e-business process. Users who are not employees and are thus outside the traditional corporate boundary, includingcustomers, suppliers, and partners, can have direct and immediate online access tobusiness information which pertains to them.In a traditional office environment, any access to sensitive business information isthrough employees. Although employees are not always reliable, at least they areknown, their access to sensitive data is limited by their job function, and access isenforced by physical and procedural controls. Employees who pass sensitiveinformation outside the company contrary to policy may be subject to disciplinaryaction; the threat of punishment thus helps prevent unauthorized access.Making business information accessible via the Internet vastly increases thenumber of users who may be able to access that information. When business ismoved to the Internet, the environment is drastically changed. Companies mayknow little or nothing about the users (including, in many cases, employees) whoare accessing their systems. Even if they know who their users are, it may be verydifficult for companies to deter users from accessing information contrary tocompany policy. It is therefore important that companies manage access tosensitive information, and prevent unauthorized access to that information beforeit occurs.
Much More Valuable Data E-Business relies not only on making business information accessible outside thetraditional company, it also depends on making the best, most up-to-dateinformation available to users when they need it. For example, companies canstreamline their operations and reduce overhead by allowing suppliers to havedirect access to consolidated order information. This allows companies to reduceinventory by obtaining exactly what they need from suppliers when they need it.Streamlining information flow through the business system allows users to obtainbetter information from the system. Now, businesses that allow other businessesand consumers to submit and receive information directly through the Internet canexpect to get more timely, accurate, and valuable information, at less expensethan if traditional data channels were used.Formerly, when information was entered into a business system, it was oftencompartmentalized. Information maintained by each internal department, such assales, manufacturing, distribution, and finance, was kept separate, and was often by physically separate and incompatible databases and applications —so-called “islands of information.” Companies have found that linking islands ofinformation and consolidating them where possible, allows users to obtain betterinformation, and to get more benefit from that information, which thus makes theinformation more valuable.Improving the value of data available to legitimate users generally improves itsvalue to intruders as well, increasing the potential rewards to be gained fromunauthorized access to that data, and the potential damage that can be done to thebusiness if the data were corrupted. In other words, the more effective an e-business system is, the greater the need to protect it against unauthorized access.
Scalability with Large User Communities The sheer size of the user communities which can access business systems via theInternet not only increases the risk to those systems, it also constrains thesolutions which can be deployed to address that risk. The Internet createschallenges in terms of scalability of security mechanisms, management of thosemechanisms, and the need to make them standard and interoperable.Security mechanisms for Internet-enabled systems must support much largercommunities of users than systems that are not Internet-enabled. Whereas thelargest traditional enterprise systems typically supported thousands of users, manyInternet-enabled systems have millions of users.
Manageability Traditional mechanisms for identifying users and managing their access, such asgranting each user an account and password on each system he accesses, may notbe practical in an Internet environment. It rapidly becomes too difficult andexpensive for system administrators to manage separate accounts for each user onevery system.
Interoperability Unlike traditional enterprise systems, where a company owns and controls allcomponents of the system, Internet-enabled e-business systems must exchangedata with systems owned and controlled by others: customers, suppliers, partners,etc. Security mechanisms deployed in e-business systems must therefore bestandards based, flexible, and interoperable, to ensure that they work with others’systems. They must support browsers, and work in multi-tier architectures withone or more middle tiers such as web servers and application servers.
Hosted Systems and Exchanges The principal security challenge of hosting is keeping data from different hosteduser communities separate. The simplest way of doing this is to create physicallyseparate systems for each hosted community. The disadvantage of this approach isthat it requires a separate computer, with separately installed, managed, and software, for each hosted user community, providing little economiesof scale to a hosting company. Mechanisms that allow multiple different usercommunities to share a single hardware and software instance, keep data fordifferent user communities separate, and allow a single administrative interfacefor the hosting provider, can greatly reduce costs for the hosting service provider.Exchanges have requirements for both data separation and data sharing. Forexample, an exchange may ensure that a supplier’s bid remains unviewable byother suppliers, yet allow all bids to be evaluated by the entity requesting the bid.Furthermore, exchanges may also support "communities of interest" in whichgroups of organizations can share data selectively, or work together to provide ajoint bid, for example.
Assurance E-businesses need some form of assurance of the security provided in thetechnology products they purchase. For such assurance, there are internationalstandards used to validate vendors’security claims against established criteria informal evaluations.Security evaluations are carried out by independent, licensed and accreditedorganizations. The evaluation process, from inception to certificate, often lasts upto a full year (and sometimes longer). Vendors who have undergone evaluationsof their products learn to improve upon their development, testing and shippingprocesses as a result of completing the demanding process.Security evaluations are perhaps the most effective way to qualify a vendor’sassertions about its security implementations. Is a product that has not completedsuch evaluations secure enough to run an e-business? Is it secure enough toprotect an organization’s most sensitive data? E-businesses demand that thesoftware and hardware vendors they select ship certified, provably-secureproducts. Assurance afforded by independent security evaluations lets e-businesses be assured of the products they purchase and deploy.
SUMMARY E-business depends on providing customers, partners, and employees with accessto information, in a way that is controlled and secure. Managing e-businesssecurity is a multifaceted challenge and requires the coordination of businesspolicy and practice with appropriate technology. In addition to deployingstandards bases, flexible and interoperable systems, the technology must provideassurance of the security provided in the products.As technology matures and secure e-business systems are deployed, companieswill be better positioned to manage the risks associated with disintermediation ofdata access. Through this process businesses will enhance their competitive edgewhile also working to protect critical business infrastructures from malefactorslike hackers, disgruntled employees, criminals and corporate spies.
They are not updated regularly. If you aren't adding new products or tweaking the descriptions on your items, then you've set yourself up for failure. People like coming back to sites because they want to see "What's New" or "What's Hot." You should be making changes at least once per month.
Things never go on sale. In the land of Blue Light Specials, people expect sale items when they visit an online store. Heck, sometimes the sale button is one of the first things I click on when I go to one of my favorite makeup online stores Sephora.com.
There aren't any coupons offered. This goes along with number 2. Everyone is looking for the best price online. Exclusive coupons are a must and make the consumer feel special. It also helps store owners track where traffic is coming from if they give their coupons a special name based on the magazine or online add they are tied to.
Its hard to find what you're looking for. Nothing is worse than an unorganized site. You should take your consumers top 10 choices and put them on the home page. Also, your items should be one or two clicks away and categorized with common sense.
The product pictures are awful--blurry and amateur. We have a client in Dallas who runs an online store for women's denim and accessories. Since day one, they decided to take their own pictures even though I strongly suggested they hire a professional. Its been 2 years and they still complain their site isn't getting the orders they expected. I remind them of the reason--their pictures. Have they changed them yet? No, I'm still waiting...
Folks, hear me out on this. If you are going to put up a site, its has to be top-notch or don't even bother! Your product pictures should be professionally taken or no one will take you seriously enough to give you their credit card.
The site doesn't tell visitors about the owners. Yes, your site tells your consumers everything about Dolce and Gabbana, but why should I buy their products from you? Every good ecommerce site should tell something about the owners and their philosophies in order to gain consumers trust.
There is no 800 number, address, email or way to contact the owners. Another big one folks. If I can't reach you, that tells me you don't want me to for some reason. I get very suspicious and move on. All three of these things should be there.
The site is designed poorly. Once again, if the site isn't designed professionally and is not engaging, consumers aren't going to take you seriously enough to give you their credit card. Note: Watch your typos carefully. I can't tell you how many people will judge you poorly based on misspelled words!
The Checkout Button isn't prominent. This is a point of frustration for a lot of online shoppers. If they can't checkout easily, they will leave. They won't give you a second chance either.
There is no security key at the bottom of the browser. 90% of online consumers won't buy from a store that doesn't have a secure checkout. That's a huge number of people to turn away.

Reasons for Success in International E-Commerce: Speaking the Customer's Language Two dynamic forces of our time--globalization and the online movement--continue to flourish in many countries. However, a tremendous export market exists in addressing foreign markets, as going global is no longer considered an alternative but a necessity for business survival. If your business has not gone global, you can bet that your competitors have a plan to get there, regardless of their geographical location. The Web has helped remove barriers between countries, but there are still numerous opportunities to address foreign markets. Today, there are only 7 countries where English is the primary language spoken, some half a billion people, and where the combined economies represent 30% of the world's economy. The combined populations of these countries represent 8% of the world's population. Companies that continue to target this small fraction of the world market will miss out on capturing a large potential market.
According to the latest statistics (http://www.euromktg.com/globstats), 91 million people access the Internet from English-speaking countries, whereas 80 million people access the Internet in other languages. In 1997 the latter group represented only 10 million people--a eight-fold increase in less than two years.
Early this year, European currencies merged to become the Euro, a move that stands to phase out local European currencies by the year 2002. The Euro will enhance competition by forcing companies to concentrate on price, quality, and production. Best for Internet vendors, the Euro will make it easier for non-European companies to enter European markets, and will make it easier for a small company to target most of the European market.
Unfortunately, American businesses usually have a parochial viewpoint, and consider international sales "gravy". They brag that without any translation to their Website, they already have 20% of their traffic from other countries (which usually means English-speaking countries). The fact is, when the world market is properly developed, there are twice the sales volume that come from other countries as U.S. domestic sales. The translation of this figure into dollar figures is quite startling. Some e-commerce providers, however, remain better equipped than others to handle the boom, and thereby find profits in their future. International Data Corp. (IDC) recently conducted a survey of the nation's top e-commerce merchants to find out what strategies work in e-commerce.
Chief among the successful strategies of the market leaders is having clear objectives for corporate e-commerce sites, IDC found. Reaching new customers and increasing customer loyalty were the primary objectives for e-commerce merchants surveyed for IDC's report "The Web Sellers Speak: Learning from the Leaders."
"These leading Web merchants reported that successful online commerce is all about reaching new customers and retaining them," said Juliana Nelson, senior analyst with IDC's Internet and eCommerce Strategies Group.
More than 92 percent of the online merchants surveyed are actively building user loyalty programs, which often involve various forms of customer service, to drive repeat customer traffic, the IDC survey found. Three-quarters of the Web merchants surveyed use personalization and mass-customization features to increase customer.
"Personalized content and products are much more meaningful to the visitor and improve the quality of the experience," Nelson stated.
The IDC study found a crossover effect occurring among business-to- business and consumer online commerce merchants. Companies that sold primarily to businesses are now selling to consumers, and vice versa.
"Merchants must recognize and adapt to this new business-to- business/consumer customer, which is very different from their traditional customer base," said Nelson. "New and innovative thinking on the part of the Web seller is essential for successfully reaching this new customer."
Innovative thinking is critical when targeting international customers as well, according IDC's report. As Internet users increasingly become more global -- IDC research shows that 44 percent of users resided outside of the US in 1998 and 58 percent will by 2002 -- e-commerce is becoming a highly cost-effective method of selling into new markets that are geographically out of reach. Merchants surveyed in IDC's study are very involved in internationalization efforts and are addressing many of the concerns surrounding international commerce as well.
"Due to the pervasive nature of the Internet, merchants must be prepared to agilely handle distribution, logistics, and international commerce issues, which often get extremely complicated, very quickly," Nelson said.
Survey participants also report average costs for building an e-commerce site climbing to nearly $6 million and annual maintenance and promotion costs climbing to $4.3 million and $8.6 million, respectively.
"Merchants told us that the most important lesson they have learned is that they can never rest. The envelope must be continuously pushed for online success," Nelson said.

Second Life is even more realistic than Sims as you are able to interact with other players who create characters called Residents in the game. I believe that despite the internet being available through wireless in selected places such as shopping malls, the access to it will definately get easier and more attainable as it progresses. I believe that there will come a time where every person will be able to pay for a monthly wireless subcription which allows them access it throughout the world as long as they have their password so that others will not be able to pilfer free access. As for its usage, it is likely that more business transactions will be done online, even more than what is done currently as it may be more cost efficient to transact online rather than travelling across the world for meeting. I feel that the term "Future of the internet" can be taken in two ways. Honestly, i do not remember how i started using the internet but i believe that it was Singapore's education system that injected the IT genes into us. It was less than 8 years ago where it would be rather expensive to own a computer so as to access the Internet. Now however is unthinkable for one not to be able to access the Internet. I remember the time when the Internet was such a foreign entity to me but now its my relentless need to be online that drives me through my everyday life. you know how you try your best not to fall in the same trap but somehow or another you still do? As much as i want to get out of it i feel like I'm in a giant maze. Heartbreaks and heartaches... must we have them in our lives to make the living experience complete? I've been through one heartache (Martin) and one heartbreak (Chris) so am i done with my share of the world's pain? Admittedly i always sound like i ignore the fact that there are greater pains out there like starvation and diseases but i guess that people are narcissistic by nature so that explains it. I see people suffering because of relationships but many still dive head in into one. Are we afraid of loneliness or afraid of being laughed by society for not have another half? For me, i'd say i'm afraid of loneliness, but when i think of being lonely these days i'm no longer as afraid of it as before. Maybe i've grown stronger or perhaps my heart has weakened. I guess ill never know. I've seen relationship failures change people. I thought failure makes one learn to be stronger. But how do we become stronger? Do we become wary of the intentions of others? Or do we attempt to build a wall around ourselves to shelter our feelings from the rest of the world. I never understood why Chris wanted to be alone most of the time and i always found that to be stupid. But now i understand. Seems like breaking up makes you understand the situation better. Oh my, its been half a year since the last entry... so much has changed in this time. I've seen friendships break and relationship taking a 180 degree turn. Sickens me to see how much damage words can do to someone, even more than taking a knife and slitting your wrists. For one friend in particular, you are the sweetest person i know and seeing him hurt you like that just hurts me too. Perhaps its not my business but seeing you sad makes me sad too. I had a wonderful time catching up with my old friend Gabby today. Its so rare to have a friend whom you can chat with no matter how long you guys have been apart. I really miss my Confirmation Class days. everything was simple and sweet as it was. All we needed to look forward to is the next weekend for each other's company. Now all i get is a weekend after weekend with nothing to look forward to. I need a GOAL in my life.

This has been an exhilarating week for me. I failed my driving because i was nervouse and knocked into a pole on the first part of the test: Parallel Parking. Fortunately, my day went well when LTA called to say my laptop has been found!!!! NO NEED TO PAY $2500 FOR NEW LAPTOP!!!! WOOHOO.... Even better i had perfect scores for maths and english and once again 12 over 15 for my econs. been a great week for me. Lonely but great. So much time to think and clear my head. I finally know what i want.

I just got back from the Neil Gaiman Session... i'm still reeling from the shock. The man himself is so nice! He even bothered to draw a mouse on my 'Coraline' book and "Mind The Gap" quote on my Neverwhere book. Its nice to know tht fame doesn't get to his head like other famous people. He's so down to earth and humorous its exhilarating to even be in the same county as him. He literally took my breathe away! *sigh* this is one day i'll never forget ever in my life! He took the time to sign the books unlike those irritating people who kept hurrying us up. This is the first and probably the last time i get to see my IDOL FOR GOD'S SAKE! 7th February It was Weili's birthday and I managed to get the present in time... a 1GB Ipod shuffle. He has to kowtow to all 18 people who got the present for him. Anyway it was his 21st birthday so I guess he deserves it lol. Until he forsaken me Chen and Heng for "Galileo Cafe" *sigh* but anyhow HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
8th February Nothing much happened that day, only that Chris was so sick he could not even get out of the house so he spent the whole day watching TV and playing games I guess. Reunion dinner was good :P my granny's food is the best! I miss her so much la. Technically my family isn’t suppose to be there because it’s my mum's mum so my family is suppose to be with my dad's mum (who passed away last year, the year my mum had a huge rude outburst at her and my dad during reunion dinner.) I felt lousy though just looking at my grandpa. He used to be so strong and healthy but since his kidney failure, he's just gotten thinner and weaker by the day. His skin dries up easily and it itches badly too. Kinda hurts to see him suffer like that. I can’t stand it when my mum just says things like he wont suffer for long or that he deserves it. She always thinks that she is right.
9th February First day of CNY! CNY gets more and more boring every year. The people get stingy, the angbaos lesser lol. Even my granny's reflexologist was more generous than all the relatives ($20 angbao!) Had a good lunch at her place where I met my cousins Xavier and Eliza who were fighting over their Nintendo DS!!!! Damn I want one. Graphics are almost as good as PS2. Got a lift from an uncle to my great grandmother’s place to visit more relatives… My great grand mother is 84 years old by the way! Almost as old as the Pope! God bless him J got to meet my 15 month old china cousin (by china I mean that she has a china mum…) She’s pretty smart although not pretty and says thanks in Chinese “Sha Sha”

11th February Rushed to school to discuss Advertising at 2.30pm till 6pm. Martin came up with a hilarious concept for the creative proposal :P. Hope we can put everything together as a team J Steph frowns the day away cos she was fasting for Ash Wed. A hungry Steph is a grumpy Steph lol. Forgot to thank her for the lift to Church! After that Chris and I had a meeting with Jerry and Priya about the lesson for the next 2 days till 9 plus before heading to Parkway to grab a bite and “break fast”
12th February Went down to TM Macs to discuss the Sales promo with Sherman and Steph at 11 am. Resisted the urge to eat until 1.30pm. Getting fatter by the minute. Made my laptop have a Mac skin (yes poser I know). Left at 2.45pm feeling bad for leaving the meeting early for Church to rush for a 3pm meeting… Of course I didn’t make it in time and only reached at 3.30pm. Cat Class was not too bad… went around taking pictures of the groups at their first actual lesson. Once class ended, Chris, Jerry and I went down to parkway to eat Yoshinoya then went around to FINALLY get my SD memory card for my camera and a PC card for wireless connection. Went mad and bought ALL 4 Dan brown books to keep time occupied. Not that I have a lot of time though… We headed to Chris’s place to hang out and watch Punisher where I finally caught one scene that was censored in the cinemas. Frank Castle stabbed a man under his mouth, through his tongue and into his mouth. Cool. Left about 10.30 to get a cab and head home. Tired.

a couple of days ago, me and chris went to a 7-11 near Funan IT mall to get some stuff. the cashier gave us 2 Fortune cookies (the kind u see on those american series where they get these at chinese restaurants?) ok i was excited over the stupid thing (cos i never got one before ok?) but it looked cute. since there was two of cos we each took one. i opened mine and mine said "Good fortune will improve your financial standing" Duh. i mean how else can my finance improve? Chris then insisted that he didn't want to and started ranting on how he didn't have any fortune in his life and how he doesn't believe in this kinda crap mainly how he had absolutely NO FORTUNE in his life and that the damn cookie didn't change anything. After about 15 mins persuasion from me over a silly cookie (yes i go crazy over stupid simple things), he finally opened the damn cookie.
There was no fortune slip in it.
