I liken Second Life to Sims in the sense that a virtual world is created to satisfy the side of you that craves more than what you have in life. Second Life is even more realistic than Sims as you are able to interact with other players who create characters called Residents in the game. You are even able to do things you can do in real life such as buying property and stock. The possibilities are endless. Non gamers would raise the possibilities that the online social network would take over resulting in a nonexistence of one's actual social life. I beg to differ regarding this view as i am an avid gamer who is able to strike a balance between the virutal and real world. I believe that everything biols down to one wor: CHOICESunday, January 20, 2008
I believe that despite the internet being available through wireless in selected places such as shopping malls, the access to it will definately get easier and more attainable as it progresses. I believe that there will come a time where every person will be able to pay for a monthly wireless subcription which allows them access it throughout the world as long as they have their password so that others will not be able to pilfer free access. As for its usage, it is likely that more business transactions will be done online, even more than what is done currently as it may be more cost efficient to transact online rather than travelling across the world for meeting. I feel that the term "Future of the internet" can be taken in two ways. Firstly is what will happen to the internet in future and secondly is what the internet can provide us as users in time to come. Therefore, there is no stopping to imagining what would happen for the future of the internet.Saturday, January 19, 2008
